20 Video Game Skills That Secretly Change The Game

16. Wild Wasteland - Fallout: New Vegas

The Wild Wasteland is one of the most iconic perks in Fallout: New Vegas. Upon purchasing it, the post-apocalyptic Nevada changes to include new and positively weird events, such as finding a crashed alien spaceship or fending off a pack of angry elderly women.

The perk is a lot of fun, but some people might still be reluctant to purchase it, since unlike other perks, it does nothing to improve your character’s power.

Except it secretly does.

Although Wild Wasteland doesn’t come with any buffs, the events it includes feature plenty of unique weapons that you cannot obtain in the game otherwise.

These special items include the alien blaster that guarantees critical hits on every shot and a handful of holy hand grenades (in obvious reference to Monty Python) that deal far more damage than regular explosives.

Although they are meant to be Easter eggs, these weapons are some of the most powerful items in the game. You can also get them relatively early, so even though Wild Wasteland doesn’t provide any buffs, picking the perk can give you ludicrous amount of power early on.

You just have to look around a bit to find it.
