20 Video Game Villains That SHOULDN'T Have Died
3. Vaas Montenegro - Far Cry 3
Far Cry 3 will forever be a fan favourite installment for introducing the series' most beloved antagonist to date - the indelible psychopath Vaas Montenegro.
Though Vaas was featured extensively in the game's marketing, many players were left extremely disappointed that he died a long ways before the end of the game, and to add insult to injury it was in a damn QTE-style boss fight.
Vaas was simply too damn good to squander on a single game, but the deed had been done, and so subsequent games moved on with some admittedly compelling new villains in their own right - yet they just weren't Vaas.
The fan frustration was such that Ubisoft kinda-sorta relented and brought Vaas back in the Far Cry 6 post-launch expansions, the implication being that he probably didn't actually die in Far Cry 3.
All the same, Vaas could've been one hell of a recurring, Joker-esque villain in his own right, rather than getting hastily turned into a jobber in the very game he was the poster child for.
