Albert Wesker is the most iconic antagonist of the Resident Evil series, which is pretty interesting considering you technically kill him in the very first game.

In the original release, Wesker is part of the S.T.A.R.S. team sent to investigate the mansion, but towards the end of the story, you learn that he has actually been spying on you and that he is conducting a mutant experiment inside the building.

Wesker is stabbed by his creation, and then the mansion explodes in a fiery blaze, making you believe that this is the last you see of his very early 2000s sunglasses.

You might even laugh at how over-the-top gruesome his death is, but then when you get to the sequels, you suddenly realize the joke is on you.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary, the sequels reveal that Wesker survived. Because he injected himself with the mutant serum, he was able to regenerate his fatal wounds and then run out of the burning building unscathed.

From that point on, he became the mastermind behind most major events in the series, always being one step ahead of his former team.
