20 Video Games That Are About To Make A HUGE Comeback
6. Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time
Although The Lost Crown and The Rogue were solid Prince of Persia titles, it was disappointing how they didn't embrace the 3D platforming of their predecessors, especially since there has been rumblings of a Sands of Time remake for many years.
Even though this do-over was announced in 2020 for the following year, it hit a major snag when Ubisoft's Indian developers left. After remaining in development hell for years, people wondered whether the project had been quietly cancelled.
Fortunately, the new iteration of Sands of Time is set for an early 2026 release, meaning it won't be long before we can revisit the time-controlling classic.
Rather than being a reskin, the remake has been rebuilt from the ground up, providing updated visuals, textures, lightning, re-recorded dialogue, and new cinematic sequences. With the original developers, Ubisoft Montreal, at the helm, this SoT should satisfy modern gamers while remaining faithful to the 2003 version.
And if 2026's The Sands of Time rejuvenates the IP the way we hope it will, we could see more Prince of Persia remakes and 3D sequels in the near future.
