15. Alduin Bites - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may not feature atom bombs, but it does begin with something arguably more dangerous—a world-devouring dragon.
Skyrim's intro might be one of the most iconic and loathed experiences in the game. Most people on the internet can probably recite it by heart thanks to all the memes about it, and yet not many people know that it is possible to fail the tutorial in a rather spectacular (that is, spectacularly embarrassing) way even before you escape with Hadvar or Ralof.
When Alduin descends from the sky and starts wreaking havoc in Helgen, you have to pass through a short running sequence as you make your escape. Alduin will breathe fire at you during this sequence, but unless you play on higher difficulties, the flames won't be enough to kill you, so you might assume the intro is impossible to fail.
Well, actually it is if you act dumb.
While Alduin's flames are not enough to kill you, if you just stand in front of him when he lands, the dragon will start biting at you, and just a couple of his jaw attacks are enough to kill you in the world's easiest tutorial.
The bite also comes with a ragdoll effect and a potential killcam, just to make your death feel more embarrassing.
