19. Lee Everett (The Walking Dead: Season One)

Lee Everett is a traditional hero in every sense of the word. The complications of his dark past instilled in him a clearer sense of right and wrong, and this is most apparent in his unconditional love for his surrogate daughter Clementine.

While everyone else in his group of survivors falls prey to indecision and petty squabbling, Lee rises above it to become a true leader, one who is both practical and compassionate. While certainly capable of doing terrible things, his devotion to keeping Clementine safe keeps him grounded.

He is willing to do anything for her, even at the expense of himself. In the end he succumbed to infection, leaving Clementine to traverse the world alone, armed only with the fatherly knowledge he passed down to her.
