Come on, how many can say that Master Chief's (or John-117, if you catch him off-the-clock) biggest weakness as character is that he doesn't show enough emotion or have fleshed-out personality. Considering the stern stance both Bungie and 343 Industries have taken on refusing to lift the visor on Chief's true appearance, the fact that he's even able to emote at all with a helmet for a face is bloody outstanding. Sure, the Spartan has never been the most outward thinker, but that's because he's always had Cortana by his side to pronounce his thoughts without him having too. After all, there are plenty of real people who prefer not to be blabbermouths. Chief - perhaps more so than anyone else on this list - has become so recognisable that he's since transcended his native industry ever since the original Halo. Food and drink promotions, cosplays, films, books, hell, even a friggin' Superbowl ad - Bungie's creation has become the face of a multimedia franchise that's shown little sign of slowing down any time soon. Hail to the Chief.
