25 Video Game Mechanics That Simply Don't Work In Real Life

17. Fast Travel

Next time you're on that long, boring commute to work, imagine how easy it could be if you could just boot up your map, choose your work, and teleport to right there in the lobby.

Videogame characters don't know how easy they've got it. While they're off gallivanting on the other side of the globe, they can simply teleport wherever they fancy to be close to wherever they need to be. Found an item somebody asked for in a town thirteen thousand miles away? No worries - you'll be there in a jiffy.

Our equivalent of fast travel in real life is getting on a train or a plane rather than taking the car. It just doesn't have the same zippiness to it, does it?

Flip side of the coin here is it's really hard to make an excuse for being late for work when you can literally appear there instaneously.
