E3 delivered the shock announcement that EA and DICE were working on a new entry into the beloved Star Wars: Battlefront video game series. After the second game released in late 2005, the series simply died a quiet death, even though fans have been crying out for a third game pretty much ever since. EA finally heeded the call, even if little is known about the game beyond the snazzy in-engine test footage shown off, which looks bloody gorgeous. There is a slight concern that EA will just end up turning Battlefront into re-skinned Battlefield, especially considering the game is reportedly now a first-person shooter with "third-person elements". Frankly, EA could just re-release an HD remastering of the original two Battlefront games and most fans would throw money at them. Hopefully they won't just betray fans with a lazy Battlefield clone.
