30. EA's New IP Unravel Is Charming & Visually Stunning
Few were probably expecting EA of all companies to unveil one of the week's most charming and lovable new IPs, but that they certainly did with Swedish developer Coldwood Interactive's Unravel, a physics-based platformer in which the player controls cute mascot Yarny, and can use the trail of yarn following behind him to manipulate the environment in unexpected ways, in order to reach higher points and so on. It certainly helped that the game's Creative Director, Martin Sahlin, seemed so genuine and enthusiastic about the project (not to mention visible nervous), his enjoyment proving massively infectious, though even on its own merits, Unravel looks like something very special indeed. No release date is set yet, but it's coming for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
