1. Mario Kart 64

What would any article on classic games be without everyone's favourite Italian plumber? Mario Kart 64 was the ultimate in '90s gaming, and of course you can play the game through on single player, but the fun starts when you grab 3 other mates and let the chaos begin. Shells flying everywhere, karts skidding out on banana peels, and the classic invincibility star that makes anyone in front of you cower in fear. Mario Kart was set to be a success from the start, an already well established mascott and an addictive multiplayer makes this is a game that can still be played today and hold its own against any party game on the market, even against its successor, Mario Kart Wii.
