5 Gaming Side Characters Who Somehow Got Incredibly Famous

4. Tingle

Tingle Definitely the least well known character on this list, Tingle earns his place because he so clearly is a character that really has no qualities to be the star of his own game, and yet some how has made it anyway. Originating in The Legend of Zelda Majora€™s Mask on the Nintendo 64, Tingle was a quirky, and quite frankly weird and creepy addition to The Legend of Zelda franchise. He is a odd man child of a character who though is never described as having €˜issues€™ quite clearly has them. He€™s out of shape, in his mid thirties and for reasons never quite explained obsessed with dressing up like a fairy of the forest. In a series like the Zelda games there are many quests and mysteries, but surely the biggest mystery is how this peculiar little fellow became the first character in the franchise to get his own spinoff (Terrible Zelda starring CDi game not counting as it wasn€™t made by Nintendo). From the Mario series we€™ve had Luigi games, Yoshi games, Wario games, even a game starring Princess Peach as the hero. The Zelda games have just as many interesting characters come up, butit was Tingle in 2006 who managed to get the spotlight from Link when he appeared in the Nintendo DS game Freshly-Picked Tingle€™s Rosy RupeeLand. The game was well received, sure it didn€™t have the same impact as Nintendo€™s other games in the Zelda series, but it was a great little game nonetheless. When it was first announced most people€™s reaction was probably €˜Seriously?€™, but it happened, and the world is no worse a place for it. And it didn€™t stop there as Tingle was back (In Japan at least) in Irozuki Tincle no Koi no Balloon Trip . Again not the greatest game ever, but a highly rated game which means we shouldn€™t be too surprised Tingle comes to visit us on the 3DS sooner rather than later. Kooloo-Limpah!
