5. Super Smash Bros.

Theres yet to be a HD collection released on a Nintendo console, or one featuring games from the fighting genre. What better way to change this than with a collection incorporating all three games in Masahiro Sakurais Super Smash Bros series? The franchise features characters from a host of Nintendo series (many of which would be deserving of the HD treatment in their own right), from heavyweights such as Mario, Pokemon and The Legend Of Zelda to the lesser-known (in the West, at least) likes of Kid Icarus, Mother and Fire Emblem. Pitting them against one another in a range of themed levels, the series is a fans dream, allowing players to control some of gamings most recognisable faces in mad brawls, both online and offline, that feature a plethora of moves and weapons to keep things interesting. The original Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 64 is heavily dated, though Super Smash Bros Melee on the GameCube is still highly playable despite being twelve years old. Super Smash Bros Brawl, meanwhile, released on the Wii five years ago, wouldnt need much in the way of tweaking for a rerelease, so a collection would be an excellent (and reasonably simple) marketing tactic to pre-empt the inevitable release of the next game in the series on the Wii U.
