5 Inexpensive Shoot ‘Em Ups Worth Downloading

Sine Mora is another game on this list that has a decent and present story. While the world envisioned in Sine Mora is equally as absurd as that of Jamestown+, it somehow feels closer to home. Anthropomorphic animal combat aces in a dystopian steam-punk world take center stage in Sine Mora EX.

The player takes the role of many characters in the game, but the predominant character is a cynical and battle-hardened bison that stages an assault on the ruling force to avenge the loss of his son, giving the game a needed personal feel that is absent from most shoot ‘em ups. There is a heavy focus on time in the game - when the player gets hit by the enemy’s bullets, the player doesn’t lose health. Instead, the player loses time as every level segment has a time limit that increases with every enemy killed, and decreases with any damage inflicted on the plane.

After completing missions, different pilots, their weapons, and their planes get unlocked, allowing for an endless amount of plane editing combinations. Adding a friend to the mix makes the game even better since the second player can act as a small cannon fighter or even as a temporary shield holder.

Sine Mora EX is the most expensive options on the list, topping off at $20.00 USD. However, just like Jamestown+, this game goes on sale during most peak sale months.
