4. CD Projekt RED Deserve Your Support
In an age where may gamers feel like they are being nickelled and dimed by day-one DLC, micro-transactions online passes, DRM, etc., a developer like CD Projekt RED is a breath of fresh air. Despite The Witcher 2 being one of the most pirated PC games since its release, they have frequently spoken out against the use of DRM (Digital Rights Management) and have vowed not to use it in any of their future games. Even with their online store, gog.com (formerly Good Old Games), they have put this into practice by selling hundreds of classic and indie PC games DRM-free. CD Projekt RED has also has a "DLC should be free" policy, and has walked the walk by giving free content to to gamers who legitimately purchased their games, such as when the Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 2 was released. They seem to understand that it is gamers like us who make their world go round, and they are a developer who treats their audience as a friend rather than as an enemy. Also, if you didn't gather this in my gushing over the last few pages, I think CD Projekt Red makes really incredible games, which is normally enough for me to throw my support behind a developer. The fact that they also have a pro-gamer mentality is just icing on the cake.
