3. Cyberpunk 2077 Console Edition

The PC edition of Cyberpunk 2077 is impressive. You would hope so, considering it's the only edition CD Projekt Red cared about during development.

After 8 years of hype, when Cyberpunk dropped on consoles it was… on fire.

PS4’s particularly struggled with constant framerate drops, crashing, texture pop-ins and assets not loading or save files corrupted from game-breaking glitches. This was so bad even, that Sony temporarily removed the title from its online store.

CDPR desperately tried to get out ahead of this with a PSA explaining how development was siphoned off mainly to PC platforms and next gen consoles, with PS4’s and Xbox Ones taking a backseat. This proved their undoing as next gen editions haven't arrived yet and the current gen version are still plagued with issues.

It also transpired that this game’s creation was far from smooth. Devs disagreed over fundamentals like whether the game would be 1st or 3rd person. People reportedly quit the company over issues such as this.

The company have since laid out their roadmap of patches and hotfixes, but the damage has been done. Even though the game has made its way back to what people call a “playable state” and is back on Sony’s marketplace, it seems as though the hype train for this game will never reach its destination.
