3. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

This entry deals with a familiar series, but perhaps not a familiar entry if you didn't own a Nintendo DS or PSP. A handheld exclusive, GTA: Chinatown Wars dealt with Huang Lee, the son of a recently killed Triad boss, traveling to Liberty City with a prized sword to give to the new patriarch of the family, but events transpire and in traditional GTA fashion, crazy things start to happen. It was in this game that gameplay returned to the original GTA's top-down perspective, while adding cel-shading for the DS version, as well as the engaging in open-world gameplay we've grown accustomed to. Plenty of cop shootouts and a newly implemented drug-dealing subplots kept you busy, and along with a deeply engaging story about Huang's experience with the Triads, Chinatown Wars works to keep you interested throughout until the game's conclusion. Chinatown Wars earned the highest level of acclaim for a Nintendo DS game and second highest for any PSP game, it's most certainly a game worth trying, especially when you've a desire to take on the police on the go!
