7 Best Rockstar Games (You've Probably Never Heard Of)
2. Red Dead Revolver
The western game Capcom wish they made, and the one that served as the first of hopefully many Rockstar-led cowboy simulators (just confirm Red Dead 3 already!). That game is Red Dead Revolver, and it's pretty awesome. The story follows Red Harlow, a bounty hunter who loses his father to the villainy of General Diego and Colonel Daren, and seeks revenge for his father by taking on the many people who are in his way from accomplishing that goal. Gameplay is classic spaghetti western: shoot bad guys with revolvers and ask questions later. Unlike Red Dead Redemption, it is not open-world, and is more of an arcade-style shooter. After you have taken care of all the bad guys, an end level screen pops up, telling you how well you shot and any potential unlocks you've received - it encourages replayability, and is firmly aware of its own strengths in doing so. Even though the graphics have aged quite a bit (it's a 2004 game, a decade will do that to you) that classic western feel that you get when playing Red Dead Redemption is ever present here, and you feel every bit of that love for the genre overall. From the score to the presentation, this is a game any western fan can have a great time with.
