7 Reasons Why Overwatch Will Be The Next Big Multiplayer Shooter

1. Colourful Cast Of Characters

Personality is what helps video game characters stand out from the rest. After all, there's a big difference between a man who wears a scary skull-face mask and a stinkin' super-intelligent gorilla with a peanut butter addiction. Whether it's a menacing demeanor, odd quirks or pure, raw charisma, the Overwatch crew certainly seem like a delightful bunch of oddballs that won't be forgotten anytime soon.

Take a look at the cast solely by appearances. You've got a cyborg super-solider, a bodybuilding Russian woman with biceps as big as St. Petersburg, and even Asian pro-gamer turned mech-pilot (because who said video games will never help you in life?).

There are a total of twenty-two of these nutcases to choose from, ranging from all-out offensive players, masters of defensive manoeuvrers, damage-absorbing tanks, and the vital combat supporters.

The British master pilot-turned-time traveler Tracer seems like the most lovable of the bunch. She's a quirky, determined speed-demon with a cheery smile on her face and a series of cocky poses to show off to her opponents. Even when she's giving the baddies a pounding, she's surprisingly polite with her remarks - even if her voice is a very stereotypical “Oh, 'ello, guv'nah!”, which does sound pretty cringe-worthy to listen to at times. The point still stands as thus: Tracer is awesome, and she serves as a statement of intent for the rest - this game looks brilliant.
