7 Reasons Why You Should Be Worried About The Nintendo Switch

6. What Is It And Who Is It For?

The Switch is a vastly underpowered console-portable hybrid designed to be stolen from kids on the way from home school.

Because when you’re dropping more than £300 on a console, there’s no way little Billy is taking it in to play at lunchtime. Hell, at that price, you can’t even trust yourself to take it to the park with all your trendy mates baying for an 8-player Mario Kart sesh. Yeah, I remember all the times I never did that too.

The success of the Mini NES and Pokémon Go show that the Nintendo brand still carries respect. But when they should’ve been capturing a broad base of gamers – 98% of whom play inside the house in a chair of some description – after the abysmal Wii U, Nintendo crawled further up itself and farther away from the bajillion people who would’ve bought the NES back in the day. But because the Wii U’s gamepad was apparently so beloved, it required a sequel that took inspiration from the wicked-sweet success of the DS.

Still, at least the trailer was honest. The Nintendo Switch will best used when you’re parting with last night’s curry.
