5. Nintendo Are Investing In All The Wrong Areas
Really slowly, without anyone even realising it, Nintendo has turned itself into North Korea. In the isolationist sense, not the horrific death camps, shutting itself off from the wider gaming world and trading on past glories.
The console’s lack of power compared to other systems out there is like a giant middle finger to studios who already spend way too much on developing games, and now have to do even more to release a Switch version.
You sure don’t make it easy, do you, Nintendo? This isn’t like bringing out tiny discs, guys. We’re in a darker, more expensive world now. Though it's not like Nintendo seem that bothered, to be honest.
"Sure, we’ll take your downgraded sportsball game, EA. We’re kinda busy making our own thing right now."
Which is kinda badass in a way.
Nintendo aren’t investing in games beyond their own narrow offices, and they sure aren’t letting anyone take too many risks. How else can we explain a tired remaster of Mario Kart, or ARMS – a game that would’ve been right at home on the Wii, and absolutely nowhere else?
