One of the biggest changes that met fans picking up a copy of Devil May Cry 4 was that, despite being the rudest dude with the coolest 'tude in the series, Dante was not going to be the focus of the tale this time around. Instead main protagonist duties would fall on the shoulders of Nero.

While Dante would make his presence felt midway through the game upon which players would finally get to control the loveable rogue, for a long stretch we were left to explore Nero's backstory and incredible powers.

Yet that doesn't mean that Dante was entirely absent from the early events of the game, as an amazing freeze frame photo of the intro shows us he's been right with us from the start.

During a sequence where Nero turns the insides of a few enemies into outsides, he fights off and over the side of a roof, smashing them further as they fall. Yet if you freeze the action in just the right place, you'll actually see Dante, upside down at this point, watching the action from afar.

It's incredible to think that he's been shadowing our actions from the very beginning, and makes his arrival on the scene later on even more impactful. What a lej.
