But when our heroes confront the antagonist, they learn the mystery man IS James Marcus. Because of the leeches' regenerative properties, the hyper-evolved worms were able to resurrect Marcus, and return him to his youthful form. Considering Marcus' face appears on statues, paintings, and the leechmen dotted throughout the game, players should've seen this coming.
