8 Bad Video Games EVERYONE Played (And Beat!)

6. Altered Beast

Carnival Games
Sega

Altered Beast may be fondly remembered by a whole subset of gamers, but that's almost certainly because the arcadey beat 'em up was a free pack-in game with the Mega Drive upon launch.

Even if your parents couldn't afford to get you any of the console's prime rib launch titles, you had this decently-premised yet mechanically underwhelming romp to play ad nauseum with a friend or sibling.

And because of that, as well as the game's short play-time of around an hour or two on even the unskilled end, just about everyone with a Mega Drive rolled credits on Altered Beast.

While nostalgia might leave you with fond memories of playing Altered Beast during an altogether simpler, more care-free time in your life, if you dare revisit the game as an adult with a more critical eye, prepare to be shocked at just how not-good it actually is.
