8 Bad Video Games EVERYONE Played (And Beat!)

5. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition

The fact that Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto trilogy remaster collection sold more than 10 million copies within a month of its release is all the proof you need that nostalgia is a helluva drug.

The collection's inclusion on this list of course comes with a sizable asterisk, because this compendium is a very bad rendition of three incredible, era-defining games.

These allegedly "definitive" versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas were torn apart by critics - who, tellingly, didn't receive advance review copies - for the general lack of care put into preserving the classic games for modern audiences.

From the mediocre visuals to the abundance of bugs and removal of classic music tracks, nothing about this collection indicated that it was updating three of the most beloved games of all time - more that Rockstar was milking their popularity for every drop while investing only the most minimal effort to guarantee sales.

And given how many bought the collection regardless, and surely played each game to the end for that ever-important nostalgia fix, it evidently paid off.
