8 Bad Video Games EVERYONE Played (And Beat!)

2. Aliens: Colonial Marines

The pre-release hype for Aliens: Colonial Marines was off the charts, with developer Gearbox Software touting it as a direct sequel to James Cameron's Aliens, and one which would finally give fans the cinematic bug hunt video game they'd been craving for literally decades.

But Colonial Marines turned out to be a runaway dumpster fire - a bug-infested mess (in a bad way) made worse by dated visuals, a generally lousy, low-effort engagement with the franchise, and woefully repetitive gameplay.

And yet, with the Alien fanbase being desperate for a game inspired by the second movie, it sold well regardless, even ending up as Sega's best-selling release for that financial year.

Colonial Marines also had the decency to be a short bad game, lasting about four hours, which combined with it releasing a few years before Steam introduced their refund policy, prompted most to actually reach the end.
