Remember Carnival Games?

This uninspired carousel of carnival-themed mini-games was released for the Nintendo Wii and DS in 2007 and 2008 respectively, and despite receiving predominantly negative reviews for its utterly mediocre collection of mini-games, ugly visuals (even for the era), and fatally poor controls, went on to sell a stonking 6 million units.

For a game that could've been a glorified pack-in and yet wasn't nearly as entertaining as the Wii's actual pack-in title, Wii Sports, that's a staggering figure, and likely explains why Carnival Games spawned a franchise, including a 2018 follow-up for the Switch.

Moreover, the various mini-games could be easily bested in an hour or two, so even those who had intense buyer's remorse for spending cash on this thing probably polished it off.

You may not have many lasting memories of Carnival Games, but if you were a Wii owner in the late 2000s, there's a very good chance you spent a few hours working your way through this thing.
