As the President of the United States, you are given a Sophie’s choice: cure cancer or get rid of world hunger. Shortly afterwards, an alien warlord named Zinyak abducts and places you inside a PC simulation of a 1950s sitcom where you can’t swear, run people over, or punch any man, woman or child.

As you do.

After escaping the hell of 1950s comedy, you reunite with a few of your Saints aboard a spaceship, before being put back into the recycled playground of Steelport from Saints Row: The Third.

Taking advantage of the rules of The Matrix, Kinzie then turns you into the ultimate superhero by giving you cliché abilities: the speed of the Flash, the devastating stomp of the Incredible Hulk, and the unlimited telekinesis that Magneto wishes he had. Because of these powers, you quickly reject cars in favour of exercise by running, jumping, and gliding – all while of course listening to Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.

Thanks to these superpowers, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is the best Flash game that has never been made. It’s a whacky, outrageous, and hilarious superhero blockbuster full of pop-culture references and excellent homages to past video game genres.
