8 Bold Predictions For Nintendo At E3 2016

7. Nintendo Will Unveil Diddy Kong Racing 2

First appearing on the Nintendo 64, Diddy Kong Racing is something of a black sheep when compared to the Mario Kart series, throwing together a bunch of unique, lesser-known characters and even featuring a campaign, over-world and bosses in the mix. For several years now, rumours about a sequel to the original game (not counting Diddy Kong Racing DS, which was essentially a remake of the N64 game) have abounded, coupled with a surprising amount of legitimacy. The rumours state that Retro Studios is working on the game alongside Monster Games, Inc; a development studio that worked almost exclusively on racing games in the past until it began to collaborate with Retro on - you guessed it - Donkey Kong games. It's no secret that Retro has been extremely tight-lipped on their current project for several years now, and having stated no development has commenced on another Metroid Prime game, it would make sense they'd make another entry in the franchise they've recently been dabbling in. Combine that with the fact that Monster Games hasn't been up to much since co-developing Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze with Retro (bar porting an Xenoblade game to the New Nintendo 3DS) and the announcement of Diddy Kong Racing 2 at Nintendo's 2016 E3 conference is a fair prediction.
