8 Bold Predictions For Nintendo At E3 2016

6. There's Going To Be A Barrage Of Awesome Games

Surely it's inevitable, right? There has been such a drought of Wii U games in the last year and a half that even the biggest Nintendo fan must surely understand what's going on. It's no secret that the Wii U has been a complete commercial failure for the company (even if it does house some seriously terrific games). After the release of Mario Kart 8 €“ historically one of Nintendo's best-selling franchises that shifts a lot of consoles €“ it became unfortunately clear that nothing was going to €œsave€ the Wii U. The smartest thing for Nintendo to do, then, would be to reallocate its resources for the console's successor. Why spend so much money on brilliant games that are barely going to reach their sales potential? It's the only logical explanation for the complete lack of console games. Expect, then, to see a bunch of those games at this year's E3. With Nintendo's sudden working partnership with PlatinumGames €“ alongside rumours they could be funding Beyond Good & Evil 2, the same thing they did with Bayonetta €“ it's clear the Big N has begun to explore ways of getting more brilliant, exclusive titles on their systems without having to develop them in-house. Bayonetta 3? A confirmation on that Beyond Good & Evil rumour? A new F-Zero? The proper Animal Crossing game we all know is coming? When the NX is confirmed at this year's conference, the floodgates will open.
