8 Bold Predictions For Nintendo At E3 2016

8. The NX Is Finally Coming

This may seem like an obvious prediction, but it would be remiss to leave it off this list, especially since several other predictions are founded on this one. For some time now it's been fairly obvious that Nintendo has been winding the Nintendo Wii U down. If last year's frankly terrible E3 conference wasn't a clear enough sign that not much is going on with the console, then the subsequent silence with regards to any new, prominent games makes the whole situation even more obvious. All the Wii U really has left is a new Star Fox game (which has been routinely criticized for looking rushed and unpolished, although it looks stronger after its brief delay), a Zelda game all but guaranteed to be the console's final massive release (as well as dropping as a launch title for the NX) and a Paper Mario game criticized by fans for once again dropping many of the series' core RPG elements. And things are clearly grim when a console's big spring release is an HD port of Zelda: Twilight Princess). For this reason it's an absolute certainty that the NX will be revealed at this year's conference. Sure, they may not outright state €œthe Wii U era is over, now comes the reign of the NX€, but Nintendo will do everything in their power to convince investors - and video game fans at large - that their fortunes are about to change.
