5. Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (2002)

At the time of its release,
Jedi Knight II was widely believed to be the greatest
Star Wars game ever made. Praised for its engaging story-line, superb graphics, and general game play, there were few who had any real qualm with this game. Following in the footsteps of Kyle, the outcast to which the title refers, the player's journey spanned Kyle's days as a mercenary, to his eventual readmission into the jedi order. Set in the days subsequent to the fall of the Empire, the game's story was unique in that it was one of the few
Star Wars releases that wasn't set during the events of the first six films. However, where there was light, there was darkness. Although the game play was, generally speaking, flawless, it rather frustratingly included an incessant glut of, quite frankly, crap puzzles. Whilst this factor is not enough to condemn the game as a whole, it was enough to relegate
Jedi Knight II to fifth in this list.
