8 Franchises We Want To See A Lego Game Adaptation Of
4. Game Of Thrones
Lego pride themselves on being a family friendly company and as a result, almost all of their licensing is with franchises that are similarly deemed as such, bearing no more than the PG-13 rating in the United States or 12A rating in the United Kingdom.
Adults make up a sizable proportion of Lego’s sales, however, with meticulous sets containing thousands of small and intricate pieces clearly designed with those who are collectively referred to as ‘Adult Fans Of Lego’ (AFOL) in mind. Should the company ever look to alter their strategy in pursuit of profitable new ventures, Game of Thrones would almost certainly be top of the list of partnerships to pursue.
The franchise has faced a considerable backlash over the last couple of years, with elements of the fandom descending into toxicity over the rushed conclusion of the television series and still unfinished nature of The Winds Of Winter. Time heals all wounds, however, and prequel series The House Of Dragon will hopefully go some way to restoring faith in a property that is up there with Harry Potter and Star Wars in the pop cultural zeitgeist.
Westeros would be amazing to explore in any form, but seeing the likes of Winterfell, Kings Landing and The Wall in Lego bricks would make for an epic sight. Traveller’s Tales' style of gameplay and humourous storytelling would also make for a unique retelling of the ‘song of ice and fire’, with hundreds of characters to draw from.
