8 Great Video Games That Take Place In A SINGLE Building

2. Gone Home

The stanley parable
The Fullbright Company

At first, the house from Gone Home may appear boring. It's a house, that's it. No magical shifting walls or haunted presence to deal with, just a regular old house.

The thing is, the building from Gone Home and the items found within it are used to tell one of the most beautiful love stories in all of gaming. As you walk from room to room picking up objects and piecing together the context of each item to create a story, the appeal of the game will start to make sense.

Games often try to tell bombastic tales involving the end of the world but Gone Home tells the story of two women who fell in love with one another.

Since this is a regular house and not some supersized mansion the game isn't that long, in fact, you can beat it in a single minute if you want. Although that's only after learning about some of the game's secrets so you won't be doing a one minute speedrun your first time through.

On your first playthrough Gone Home will take you anywhere between an hour to two hours which is the perfect length for a game like this.
