8 Great Video Games That Take Place In A SINGLE Building
3. Control
Control is one of the most creative games to date. A facility that secures, contains, and protects surreal creatures and items, wow, what an original idea.
If I'm not being obvious enough, Control is clearly derivative of the SCP Foundation but that doesn't mean the game isn't amazing or that it doesn't have any original ideas.
Take the Oldest House, a building which is implied to have been there for a very long time, is impossibly huge, can only be found by those who are seeking it, and shifts and changes randomly. Wait, isn't that just the Room of Requirement from Harry Potter?
Anyway, the Oldest House is one of the most well-realised buildings in any video game. Every document scattered around the place tells of its known history which is implied to be minuscule in comparison to all that The Federal Bureau of Control doesn't know about the structure.
The building has a mind of its own, making you never feel truly safe no matter how powerful you have become.
The fact that most places in the house look similar works to highlight the ridiculous bureaucracy that is attempting to make sense of the impossible. It's a joy to explore the Oldest House, bring on Control 2.
