Ashen is a Dark Souls-inspired role-playing game with a unique art style. Its semi-polygonal visuals make it look both cutting-edge and retro at the same time.
The game will take place in a sunless world and follow a lone wanderer as he searches for a place to call home, encountering giant monsters, other player-controlled adventurers and non-linear pathways on the journey.
Ashen was revealed as an Xbox One exclusive at E3 2015 and the trailer footage developer Aurora44 has since put out suggests it will feature strong co-op elements, in-depth RPG components and a huge open world to delve into.
Aurora44 has cited games including The Legend of Zelda, Shadow of the Colossus, the King's Quest series and DayZ among its influences, so Ashen should offer pleasingly familiar experiences in a unique, cel-shaded package.
