8 Reasons The Witcher 3 Will Be One Of 2015's Best Games

2. Next Gen And PC Only

This isn't just Xbox One/PS4/PC snobbery at work. By not having to make a version of the game that can run on last gen consoles, the developers aren't restricting what they can add to The Witcher 3. Although the Witcher 2 was also released on the Xbox 360 - and was praised for its quality and graphics on that platform - the games can really reach their full potential on the modern day consoles and PCs. Multiple opponents, high-res graphics, the game's sheer size, all these are only possible on today's machines. Any next gen console owners who have never experienced a Witcher game before are in for a treat come the 19th May. The game's developers say that they are really pushing the Xbox One and Playstation 4 to their limits with this game. Wild Hunt is built on Red Engine 3 - an advanced and rebuilt version of the engine used in Witcher 2 - which is designed to run exclusively on 64-bit platforms, fully utilising the power of the next generation consoles.
