8 Star Wars Video Game Franchises EA Should Reboot

Star Wars Battlefront II's Starfighter Assault mode was never meant as anything more than an enjoyable, albeit shallow, side attraction, but when all's said and done, it makes every Star Wars fan pushing 30 and beyond pine for a modern-day follow-up to a bonafide classic. Today, they look more archaic than a cave painting, but back in the 90s, Star Wars: X-Wing and its follow-ups were cutting-edge.

As one of the first games to use fully 3D polygonal models, engaging Star Destroyers and their legions of TIE Fighters in three dimensions from the safety of your cockpit offered unprecedented realism. Piloting your own X-Wing had never felt more authentic, what with holographic scans of enemy ships being displayed via your onboard computer and flickering neon lights alerting you to danger. Immersive stuff.

A modern-day flight simulator in 2019 isn't going to tread new ground like Star Wars: X-Wing did, but EA would be foolish not to investigate a revival. Provided the publisher coughed up the budget afforded to a standalone game, a massively expanded version of Battlefront II's distraction could be incredible.
