8 Video Game NPCs You Would Die To Protect

2. Garrus - Mass Effect

Resident Evil 4
BioWare

Oh Garrus, you can recalibrate my engines any day.

What an absolute superstar of a companion, am I right? From the moment that players teamed up with this dry-witted space cat, it was made clear that Garrus is two things. Loyal to a fault, and someone not to be messed with.

Both of these points were made crystal clear in Mass Effect 2 where Garrus not only managed to get even more badass thanks to his undercover role as Archangel, but when talk came of a suicide mission, Garrus needed little convincing because he's just that bloody swell.

He's the type of companion who'd not only get you drinks at the bar, but get you home safely at night as well, likely informing the taxi driver how to fix the rattle in his car engine.

In combat, his mastery of tech will overload Geth and fry through enemy shielding, and his love of the long-range means that he's able to pick off targets with inescapable accuracy. A top man through and through.
