In addition to being a very snazzy weapon designed to combat darkness itself, Kingdom Hearts' magical Keyblades have the incredibly nifty ability to theoretically open not just any door but any lock in existence.
As ridiculous as the Keyblades might look in practical terms, that makes them one hell of a useful tool.
And while the ability to open any lock on command obviously should be wielded with great responsibility, nobody said you needed to use it to break into a bank vault.
