When it comes to the Resident Evil series, us fans have had to put up with a fair few eyebrow raisers. Bless Capcom for constantly trying to reinvent the wheel but many of us could have done without the likes of Operation Racoon City or Survivor.

Yet even in their darkest moments there exists a sliver of enjoyment, because while some of the library of games on offer aren't all gems, even the duff ones are able to ride that campy b-movie vibe long enough to get a few smiles out of the fanatics.

That being said, Umbrella Corps can mail itself to the morgue, because this game was dead on arrival the moment it was announced. The online multiplayer focus of the title seemed to be Capcom's stab at blending it's narrative world with the likes of Rainbow Six, and while this sounds great on paper, it was an absolute disaster in practice.

The net code looked like it had been torn apart and was rife with connection issues, and even if players did find a match there was only one mode of gameplay and it got old REAL quick. What made the experience even more bland was that none of the well known fan favourites show up meaning you're playing as faceless mercenaries throughout. With such a lacklusture experience coupled with the bizarre choice of gameplay, Umbrella Corps was a horror show through and through.
