8 Video Games That Are Fun Even If YOU SUCK

It's fair to say that there are many games that just plain suck if you're not any good at them. If you can't "git gud" at a FromSoftware game, for instance, it's basically like throwing yourself repeatedly into a brick wall - painful and pointless.

We all want to feel like we're making progress or in the very least having basic fun with our precious gaming time, but thankfully, there are those few video games which will make you feel the warm fuzzies even in brutal defeat.

And that's absolutely the case with these video games, each of which are an absolute blast to play even if you get summarily destroyed by the competition or can't quite figure out what to do next.

The gameplay fundamentals, the story, characters, and sheer vibe of it all is so strong that you likely won't much care if you keep screwing things up.

These games will get their hooks in you regardless, and so even if you turn your nose up at competitive multiplayer titles and tricky platformers, it's worth giving this lot a second look. Otherwise, you're missing out big time...

Though puzzle-platformers are inherently offputting to many players, even the most clueless among us will surely have an absolute blast with Portal. 

Far from a clinical conveyor-belt of increasingly tricky puzzle rooms, it benefits massively from both its uniquely offbeat sense of humour, and the sheer joy of experimenting around with the game's bonkers physics engine.

It is a game where simultaneously nothing makes sense and everything does, and where the thrill of figuring out the solution to a crafty puzzle is borderline euphoric.

But even if you do end up stuck for far too long on any of the test chambers, the applications of the Portal Gun, to tinker around with physics and slingshot yourself around, ensure that it's basically impossible not to have fun.

And as ever, Valve outdid themselves by introducing co-op gameplay in Portal 2, giving you a pal to bounce ideas off when the going gets tough.
