8 Video Games That Reward You For Showing Mercy

2. MEDIC! - Mega Man X: Command Mission

For those of you who have not experienced the glorious rush of adrenaline that forms the backbone of Mega Man X: Command Mission I really urge you to seek it out, as it's possibly one of the only games I can think of that managed to switch from a real-time run and gun to become an RPG and still carried over that same frantic energy.

Battles are hectic and wonderfully vibrant affairs, and it's easy to lose yourself in the maelstrom of machines and robot master mulching. However, if you manage to show some restraint to some of your enemies, you may end up better off than simply turning them into scrap and sifting through it down the recycling centre for items.

You see some enemies in the games, namely medic enemies, actively heal their allies in battle, yet they seem less inclined to attack you. After all their job is to save lives rather than cost you yours, so if you take out all other enemies and leave them alone, you'll be rewarded with a little treat.

Here the medics will heal YOU and then run away from the battle in the following turn, usually thanking you for sparing them. In some areas, this becomes a pretty useful way to keep your party fighting fit without wasting precious items!
