8 Video Games With Cut Content That Would've Been Awesome

1. The Sharmoota Job - GTA V

GTA V Sharmoota Job

Perhaps GTA V's standout feature was heists. Both in single-player and (rather belatedly) in multiplayer, these well-crafted missions gave players the opportunity to plan, execute and pull off a satisfying caper with an array of different themes, including an Italian Job-esque getaway substituting Minis for muscle cars in the finale.

However, not every heist that was planned eventually made it into the final product. One such heist that we know definitely existed was the Sharmoota Job, a heist that would've involved Michael, Franklin and Trevor raiding Martin Madrazo's house, with the end goal being to steal his safe, his prized horse, and then also kidnap his wife, Patricia.

The Sharmoota Job - like all other heists - would've given players a couple of options on how it could be executed. The prep phase stays the same, with Michael and Trevor gaining access to the house under the guise of a sales viewing, but the execution phase really gave players some varied routes to take.

Go stealthy and by night, and Michael and Trevor would simply break into the house and stealthily carry out their objectives - so nothing too elaborate. However, the daytime options were MUCH better, and involved some variation of the leads gatecrashing Madrazo's party.

The 'loud' day option sees Michael and Trevor dress up as mimes and getting involved in a shootout with Madrazo's forces, while the quiet option would've also added Franklin to the mix, and would've seen the trio dressing up as clowns. Players would have to perform tricks to keep partygoers occupied while a third member made off with the safe, Patricia and the horse, so a fairly elaborate scheme all in all.

1. In Which Branch Of The Military Did Cole Phelps Serve In?

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
