8 Ways Mass Effect Eerily Predicted The Future

1. Politics Today

Just imagine if a bullish and egotistical leader, controlled by a powerful, shadowy force, who wants a war that could potentially wipe out all of us. A commander who so totally believes their own warped world-view, who’s convinced they’re speaking truth unto power that they’ll follow through with any insane plan to prove themselves right.

I’m talking about Saren and the Reapers. Who were you thinking of?

Today, the geo-political landscape has been torn up. Antidisestablishmentarianism isn’t just one of the longest words in the dictionary; it’s become a formidable political force, railing at an Establishment seen to be comprised of power-hungry shysters.

All it takes is one spark (possibly of around 140 characters) to ignite the pyre. At least, that’s what the world fears if internet comment threads are anything to go by.

Which pretty much sums up Saren’s perspective, as he goes against the established Citadel Council, who refuses to see sanity in his reaper-based ramblings. Mass Effect saw this one coming. Can’t say we weren’t warned.
