6. Driving Mission 34 - Gran Turismo 4
Perhaps the single toughest challenge in any Gran Turismo game to date is the 34th and final driving mission in Gran Turismo 4.
While driving the 2003 Mercedes SLR McLaren, players must not only beat the Mercedes 300 SL Coupe to complete a lap of the ultra-tricky Nürburgring Nordschleife track - they've got to do it with a time handicap of 123 seconds.
Driving Mission 34 is, in a word, bulls**t. The SLR handles horribly, and if you hit any of the five other AI cars or go off-track, you'll instantly fail.
Plus, the race forces you to sit through all 123 seconds of the handicap, rather than simply letting you start when you're actually allowed to move. As such, this is a race that has no respect at all for the player's time, and given that a single run to the finish line takes around 9 minutes (handicap included), you can spend hours and hours and hours trying to beat this monstrosity.
Because of this, it ends up being the obstacle which prevents most players from achieving 100% completion on Gran Turismo. Seriously, life is too short for this.
