To say that the Mother or Earthbound series is weird really doesn’t even begin to cover it. This is a series with UFOs, sentient cabs, and your dad sending you money for killing a lot of things. In Mother 3, the weirdness continues with a very unique boss fight against the aptly named Negative Man.
To say Negative Man is not having a good time is putting it really lightly and you’ve rocked up to make it even worse.
The yellow rectangle cries the entire time while you chip away at his health and while his battle theme implies he’s a powerful opponent, he only hits you for one health point each time he attacks. The whole thing is super depressing but it is certainly unique. I hope the three experience points were worth it, you monster.
