9 Reasons Why Automatron Will Make You Love Fallout 4 All Over Again
2. New Companions Have The Trademark Fallout Humour
With that said, The Mechanist isn't the only new character introduced in the main quest of Automatron. Complimenting the robot building feature that's introduced into the DLC, you're given a couple of new companions in the process to team up with on your journey through the wasteland.
While it would have been easy to just give you a killing machine to have by your side and call it a day, the few companions you do get come with their own distinct and interesting personalities.
With some brilliantly witty moments, the robots are much funnier than you might have first expected, with some classic Fallout black humour injected into every conversation you have with them. Again, without spoiling anything, these robots aren't the same type that you've seen in the base game, falling somewhere between a Mr Gusty and a fully-sentient Synth.
As a result, the robots have some rather warped explanations for their behaviour, and their detached and cynical opinion of every situation never fails to at least crack a smile.
