5. Cainhurst Castle - Bloodborne

Similar to the first Dark Souls where an offshoot area is accessible using a specific item taken from the starting area, Bloodborne too has the imposing Cainhurst Castle. You'll need to retrieve the "Cainhurst Summons" from Iosefka's Clinic - accessible through the Forbidden Woods (it's one HELL of a trek, so check a video walkthrough) - and then travel to Hemwick Charnel Lane through the Hunter's Dream.

Interacting with the large blue obelisk-looking thing in the middle of the area will trigger a cutscene where an ornate horse and cart arrives, finally taking you to the Castle itself.

Naturally, Cainhurst is a brutal gauntlet of chip damaging ranged enemies and devastating melee exchanges, but you'll get some great equipment and a mighty cool boss fight for your troubles.
