9 Upcoming Wii U Games That Will Redeem It In 2016

2. Star Fox Zero

How has Nintendo managed to go around 10 years without releasing a proper, fully-fledged Starfox game? The scrolling shooter delivered some of the greatest Nintendo games of all time on the SNES and N64, before going off the rails when Nintendo outsourced Star Fox: Assault to Namco on the GameCube, with the series subsequently disappeared. Star Fox Zero, co-developed by Nintendo and the ever-reliable PlatinumGames (of Bayonetta fame) will return to the action-oriented spacefaring adventures of Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy (the hapless little sh**), sending you to diverse planets populated with mechanical enemies itching to gun you down. Alongside the fast-paced, laser-hell gunplay we're all expecting - and a return of some of the most loved locations from earlier games (alongside new ones) - there'll be new vehicles to play around in. These include the Gyrowing, a small helicopter piloted by Slippy that can get into tight spaces and hack enemy vessels, as well as the option to actually step out of your vehicle and walk around freely at certain points. Why? Who the hell knows, but it'll be interesting to see whether these new gameplay layers can help revive the stuttering franchise.
